Yup it turns out that even if the total cost for the materials for you job is $500-$1000 and its two 8 or ten hour days work it's at least 10k to do the job! I've been getting quotes for a side job as 10k-12k and for a real job supposedly reputable Home Depot 12-16k for a house that I've priced the materials on at $600 total at Home Depot.

I'm not an unreasonable person! I'll pay your company $150 and hour to work on a house.

I know you have over head, insurance, office, vehicle , you have to pay the help, but what am I suppose to pay for your gambling addiction? Drug addiction? Your private jet? Like I told the guy that came out to my house the other day in a nice new Red Chevy pickup stake bed that lives in Gowanda that told me the previous old man Peter's was cheap and didn't want to fix the whole houses roof at once( This guy has done all the work on this house previously in the last 15 year every square inch has been done by him one section at a time. So why if it's 25 year guaranteed shingles or 30 year singles am I having to replace work done in the last 15 years?). Suck my dick fagot, because only fagots get rich from doing nothing. Also watch out for the pole( I should have let him hit the dam thing but I'm to nice of a guy). Anybody that didn't go on to get a graduate degree and would charge you $1200 an hour to do anything, yet alone roof your house, remodel your house, or do any other work for you is: No good ? In my Opinion to be that cold you have to be a child molester, a rapist, a thief, a lawyer. Any guy that would charge you $1200 and hour would f your wife and daughter behind your back and molest your child and steal anything that is not locked down from you house, your neighbors house and the contactor or employer, employers, or general contractor he works for. This is a problem with an easy credit society everyone wants to get rich off of one job. It's a wonder that so many houses in Gowanda have bad roofs on them at $1200 an hour people aren't going to have the roof done until Niagara falls is pouring into the house!

I watch flip this house all the time and have seen every episode more than once and across the country. It doesn't matter if its Boston, NYC, LA, San Antonio, Chalet SC. The price for doing a roof no matter what size it is, even if the old shingles has to be pulled off is $3k-4k. It doesn't matter if it's white guys working on the roof, black guys, Jamaicans, Puerto Ricans or the Illegal Mexicans. The max I have very seen is $4500!

So that must be good money in the roofing industry!

I also know that my sisters house cost 9k and that has 10 times the roof area of my place and steeper inclines and is just down the road in N. Collins, and my sister in MD same story 10k for roof and at least 10 times the roof area and she lives in the Highest per capital income one of the riches in the county and also one of the 2 riches Cities in that county paid a staggering amount to remodel her house the roof only cost 12k!( these houses are luxury homes not normal size houses)

So how can my roof cost 12k-16k? Simple, it's price fixing! All these roofers are getting together and setting a price for all of WNY that is 3 to 4times the national average! Mo fer's do a honest days work!

I will go rent scaffolding, or even a power scaffolding( maybe even buy one) maybe rent a bucket truck because I'm not climbing a latter at my weight and the buy the most expensive shingles out their, the most expensive underlayment, and take my time and remove all the old shingles, and do the job right! Hell I may even take 2 weeks even though it shouldn't take me alone more than 3 days( I've done bigger roofs before at least 4 times and with a hammer not a air compressor powered thing that does all the work for me and cuts the time in half and difficulty by 90%). I'll know that it was done right and won't leak for at least 50 years, and I'll yell from the roof top!
